Opportunity

We are looking for a Salesforce Automation Test Engineer (Day Rate Contractor) to support our IT modernisation efforts. The role holder will drive multi‑level testing of key system developments, ensuring timely delivery of outcomes that meet both business and customer needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project scope and establish shared understanding of business requirements.
  • Work in multi‑disciplinary Agile teams, following shift‑left testing.
  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies using Scrum or Kanban.
  • Automate testing with Selenium, Java, API testing (RestAssured/Ready API), JavaScript test frameworks such as UTAM.
  • Build and optimise test automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Automate Salesforce, preferably Financial Services Cloud.
  • Write and execute test automation scripts.
  • Maintain and optimise existing test automation frameworks.
  • Estimate, plan, design, and report on tests.
  • Use CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, BitBucket.
  • Perform manual testing of test cases when required.
  • Cover all areas of the testing life cycle (systems testing, SIT, regression testing, UAT).
  • Manage defects.
  • Set up test environments in complex technical environments.
  • Manage test risk.
  • Ensure software meets requirements and complies with the bank’s governance framework.

Role holder tasks

  • Ensure traceability of tests and capture test evidence on JIRA and Confluence.
  • Create detailed test artefacts such as test strategies, traceability matrices, and test completion reports.
  • Facilitate sign‑off of features and stories with product owner/BA.
  • Develop and maintain automated and manual tests.
  • Monitor CI builds/pipelines and troubleshoot failures.
  • Conduct system integration, regression, and acceptance testing according to the Bank’s standards.
  • Suggest improvements to the QA process.
  • Provide test estimations, write test scripts, and maintain regression packs.

What we’re looking for

  • Proficiency in Agile ways of working (essential).
  • Experience in automated testing and test strategy development.
  • Knowledge of Selenium, API testing, JavaScript frameworks, and Salesforce automation.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, TeamCity, BitBucket).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build effective stakeholder networks.
  • Experience creating detailed test artefacts and defect management.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements and non‑functional testing.
  • Experience in core banking or SaaS applications is highly regarded.
