• Role: Highly Specialist Dietitian (Band 7 equivalent)
• Salary: Up to £21,297 DoE (£53,242 WTE)
• Contract: Permanent, Part time (2 days per week)

We are opening a new 15‑bed neuro‑cognitive service at Cygnet Taunton. This service will provide comprehensive, long‑term inpatient care for older adults with complex cognitive and neurological conditions, alongside psychiatric sequelae. The Neurocognitive Health Pathway aims to improve quality of life and functionality for patients who often have challenging psychiatric and physical presentations.

Job Role

• Lead dietitian for the new service, determining the most effective ways to deliver dietetic input.
• Manage an active caseload, providing direct 1:1 care, advice and guidance to staff, unit‑based clinics, and potentially group work.
• Conduct comprehensive dietetic assessments and produce individualized dietetic plans.
• Collaborate closely with the catering team, Speech and Language Team, and the wider multidisciplinary team to advise on meal plans and feeding regimens.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian with a degree or postgraduate diploma (or equivalent) in Dietetics, HCPC registration, and membership of the BDA.
• Knowledge and experience of managing enteral nutrition is desirable, with CPD available if needed.
• Experience with weight management and/or diabetes management is essential.
• Experience in older adult, neuro‑rehabilitation or neurodegenerative settings, and/or mental health is strongly desirable.
• Strong teamwork, genuine desire to help others, excellent communication and time‑management skills.
• Enthusiasm, motivation and passion for supporting patients.
