Job Title: Learning Support Assistant – Special Educational Needs School
Location: Taunton
Pay Rate: £92.00 – £109.00 per day
Job Type: Full-time – Term Time Only (Temporary with Potential for Permanent Contract)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils across primary and secondary age groups, helping them to access learning, develop communication skills, and build confidence and independence. The role will involve 1:1 support and small group intervention, tailored to meet the individual needs of each learner.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional and complex needs
- Deliver small group interventions to support learning and personal development
- Support communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
- Assist pupils in accessing a personalised curriculum
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and wider support staff
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare
