St Leonard’s Hospice is recruiting a Shop Manager to work at our Scarcroft Road, York shop. The role involves managing day‑to‑day operations, delivering an efficient, customer‑focussed operation to maximise income for the Hospice.
Responsibilities
- Maximise store sales, profits and meet KPIs through management of stock, visual merchandising and commercial analysis
- Provide a high level of customer service to donors and customers and uphold the Hospice values and Retail Service principles
- Provide line management support to the shop team which will consist of paid staff and volunteers
Qualifications
- Experience of working in the retail sector
- Experience of successfully managing staff and/or volunteers
- Proven interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels within the Hospice and to the general public
- Excellent organisational skills including attention to detail, prioritising workload and initiative to drive footfall and sales

Full‑time position working 37.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7 including weekend shifts on a rotational basis. Salary band: £25,082 – £26,753 per annum, dependent on experience.
