Role Summary
We are seeking to appoint a Science Technician to join our busy Science department. The Science Department is split by subject: Chemistry, Physics, and Biology, each with its own Head of Department and teaching staff.
There are five Chemistry laboratories and one specialised chemistry laboratory for A Level classes. There are five Physics laboratories and four Biology laboratories, plus five science classrooms and a general science laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of all materials used for teaching in the Chemistry department and the day‑to‑day running of the Chemistry Prep room.
- Conduct risk assessments and manage associated Health and Safety issues for practical experiments.
- Work collaboratively with other Science Technicians across departments to support practical teaching.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have experience within a science‑related background, demonstrate initiative, work under time constraints, be able to work independently and within a team environment.
Hours
Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, 36 weeks per year (term time plus one agreed week).
