About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a skilled and dedicated Communication Support Worker (CSW) with a minimum of Level 3 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) to work within a college environment. You will play a vital role in supporting Deaf or hearing‑impared students to access their education, ensuring inclusive and effective communication throughout their studies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide BSL interpretation and communication support during lessons, tutorials, and college activities
• Adapt communication methods to meet the individual needs of the student
• Support understanding of course content, instructions, and discussions
• Work closely with teaching staff to promote an inclusive learning environment
• Assist with note‑taking or clarification where required
• Encourage student independence and confidence in communication
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate records in line with policies

Requirements

• Minimum BSL Level 3 qualification (essential)
• Experience working with Deaf or hearing‑impaired individuals (preferred)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in an educational setting
• Professional, reliable, and flexible approach
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
