Mechanical Fitter: Precision Machinery Assembly & Testing

The company is a manufacturer of special purpose machinery located in the Alcester area.

Role Purpose

Assemble and test bespoke machinery from design drawings to meet client specifications.

Salary

£33,000 – £37,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities

• Build machine structures, sub‑assemblies and final products using hand and power tools, ensuring precise fits for bearings, gears and shafts.
• Install hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, valves and actuators according to schematics.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults during assembly and testing, collaborating with design engineers to implement solutions.
• Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers) to ensure accuracy.
• Adhere strictly to Health & Safety and quality standards (ISO).

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience of mechanical fitting/machine building.
• Strong experience in special purpose machinery and automation.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and layouts.
• Proficiency in fitting and using workshop equipment.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday with an early finish on Friday.
