Lead Housekeeper – Overview
Lead the housekeeping team at Barnet Lane Clinic’s Elysium Complex Care and Recovery Service, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for vulnerable patients. Oversee all areas including wards, offices, bedrooms, and visitor spaces, while supporting senior management and maintaining high infection control standards.
Responsibilities
- Clean designated areas to the highest standard
- Develop and review cleaning schedules, staffing rosters, and stock levels
- Manage ordering of materials and equipment within monthly budgets
- Ensure compliance with infection control guidance and local audit requirements
- Use chemicals and machinery safely, following departmental procedures, health and safety regulations, and manufacturer instructions
- Maintain an auditable housekeeping programme, including effective stock management and replenishment of janitorial products
Qualifications
- C.O.S.H.H training
- Cleaning industry standards knowledge
- Understanding of health and safety regulations
- Previous experience in a similar environment
- Strong communication and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise duties and resolve problems efficiently
