Lead Housekeeper – Overview

Lead the housekeeping team at Barnet Lane Clinic’s Elysium Complex Care and Recovery Service, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for vulnerable patients. Oversee all areas including wards, offices, bedrooms, and visitor spaces, while supporting senior management and maintaining high infection control standards.

Responsibilities

  • Clean designated areas to the highest standard
  • Develop and review cleaning schedules, staffing rosters, and stock levels
  • Manage ordering of materials and equipment within monthly budgets
  • Ensure compliance with infection control guidance and local audit requirements
  • Use chemicals and machinery safely, following departmental procedures, health and safety regulations, and manufacturer instructions
  • Maintain an auditable housekeeping programme, including effective stock management and replenishment of janitorial products

Qualifications

  • C.O.S.H.H training
  • Cleaning industry standards knowledge
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Previous experience in a similar environment
  • Strong communication and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise duties and resolve problems efficiently
