We have a rare and exciting opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HTLA) to join our highly collaborative and supportive team. Our successful candidate will support curriculum delivery across the Academy through working collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants and mentors. As a member of the Inclusion Team, the HTLA will have responsibility for leading and developing a team of teaching assistants and mentors.

The HLTA will be able to encourage pupils to become independent learners, whilst providing appropriate support for pupils with special educational needs. This role would suit an experienced teaching assistant seeking the next step in their career.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate levels of numeracy and literacy to GCSE A-C
  • Hold other relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g. A Levels, NVQ, Diploma)
  • Experience working with pupils in school for a minimum of 2 years
  • Experience working with children who have special educational needs and disabilities
  • Experience teaching individuals and small groups

This position offers an actual salary of £28,109 per annum (£30,505 full-time equivalent) based on 37 hours per week, term time plus 1 week inset. The working hours are 8am – 4pm, Monday – Friday, with a 3:30pm finish on a Wednesday. This is a fixed-term role for 1 year in the first instance.
