Job Summary

We are looking to recruit a Pay Support Officer for the busy NHSBT Pay Support Department. The role requires a passion for helping provide an excellent customer experience to our clients. You’ll need to demonstrate attention to detail, commitment and enthusiasm for service improvement and development, knowledge of the ESR system and NHS terms and conditions while working under pressure and adhering to strict deadlines. The Pay Support Officer maintains employee records, sets up payments and deductions, manages expenses, queries and overpayment handling.

Main duties of the job

  • Maintenance of the employee master file records in ESR including personal and pay data, ensuring that all master file data is up to date in accordance with operational requirements.
  • Provision of operational and user support for our systems to enable accurate and timely payment of expenses, and attendance data.
  • Co‑ordinating systems data to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines.
  • Manage own workload in an effective and timely manner.
  • Complete complex calculations, resolve enquiries, and provide information or advice when required.

About You

Experience and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of DWP, PAYE and benefit in kind processes, procedures and regulations.
  • Knowledge of NHS Terms and Conditions 2018, Medical and Dental terms and conditions (or successor bodies).
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to customer care.

Qualifications And Training

  • GCSE (or equivalent) passes in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Demonstrates commitment to own continuous learning and development.
