Special Needs Support Assistant – Maes-yr-Haul Primary (Temporary)

Salary: £13.47 per hour

Up to 25 hours per week (term time)

Temporary position, starting September 2026, end date to be confirmed.

Responsibilities

• Support individual pupils with a range of additional learning needs including communication, social, emotional, behavioural, sensory and medical needs.
• Work closely with class teachers, the ALNCo and external professionals to provide 1:1 or small group support.
• Help pupils achieve their full potential, support their wellbeing, and implement individual development plans and therapy programmes.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school.
• Assist with protecting children, young people or adults at risk as a core responsibility.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Suitable prior experience as a support assistant or similar role.
• Patient, resilient, adaptable and passionate about making a positive difference to children’s lives.
• Ability to greet customers through Welsh (Welsh language requirement).
• Enhanced with Children’s Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) required.
