Autism Support Assistant – Neasden, Brent – September 2026

Are you a bright, hard‑working graduate looking to become an Autism Support Assistant in Neasden, Brent? This specialist primary setting supports pupils aged 4-11 with Autism and communication needs, offering a highly structured, therapeutic and creative environment where every child has an EHCP.

Role Overview

This Autism Support Assistant role is ideal for a top graduate who is proactive, resilient and genuinely committed to supporting pupils with ASC.

The school currently has 55 pupils on roll, seven classes and class sizes typically ranging from 7-10 pupils, giving you strong exposure to personalised support and specialist practice.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with communication, regulation, independence, social interaction and access to an adapted National Curriculum.
  • All pupils have a diagnosis of Autism and an EHCP, so the successful Autism Support Assistant must be calm, consistent and confident following individual support plans.
  • The school reports that pupils make good to outstanding progress when starting points are considered, with some pupils reaching age‑related expectations by the end of key stages.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A strong degree from a reputable university
  • Clear interest in Autism, SEND, psychology, therapy or child development
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from therapists and teachers
  • Ability to work in small classes of around 8 pupils
