IDEXX Histology departments process tissue samples from animals, for diagnostic evaluation by our team of Veterinary Pathologists. IDEXX Histology Technicians and Technologists practice embedding, microtomy, staining and special staining techniques in their roles. Thanks to you, someone’s very beloved pet will get the treatment plan they need.
In this Role
- Process tissue samples for our Pathologists
- Be involved in grossing, embedding, microtomy, staining and special staining techniques
- Be responsible for setting up and running lab tests in accordance with SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Perform and monitor inventory of supplies, equipment and reagents
- Work closely together with colleagues and communicate to exchange information and ensure efficient processes
What You Will Need to Succeed
- BSc in Biology, Biomedical Science, Animal Science, Zoology or equivalent
- Experience working in a laboratory (setting up, running and reading lab tests)
- Experience operating laboratory equipment (microscopes and/or clinical diagnostic analyzers) would be a plus
- Hard worker, go‑getter with passion for science and innovation
Schedule
This position is to be filled for the late shift: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm to 10:30pm. Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of the position.
