Senior Auditor
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (Work level 5)
Location: Manchester city centre

We’re looking for a Senior Auditor to join our internal Audit team to help ensure effective risk management. You will provide assurance that risks are being managed and support colleagues to implement the right controls.
As a Senior Auditor, you will work with all our businesses and functions (Food, Funeralcare, Legal Services, etc.), building relationships at all levels. Bring audit experience, people skills, and a desire to grow your career.
What you’ll do
- Own and manage a portfolio of audits across all areas of the Co‑op
- Develop a deep understanding of colleague activities, processes, and culture, identifying potential gaps or risks
- Challenge and influence partners across the business, ensuring corrective actions are taken
- Create insightful reports that are clear and concise for senior leaders
- Drive high‑standard delivery of work within planned timescales, managing and coaching colleagues where necessary
- Participate in ad‑hoc assurance work and continually improve audit processes
- Leverage audit technology, data analytics and automation to enhance methodology
This role would suit people who have
- Audit experience in a similar internal audit or finance role, and an internal audit or finance qualification
- Excellent project and time‑management skills
- Strong communication skills
- A drive to own audits from end to end
- The ability to interpret complex data
- Experience using data analytics to enhance audit testing
