Equans is looking for a Mobile BMS Engineer to join our Digital business, covering parts of Central & Greater London on a full time basis.

Equans Digital has a very exciting opportunity to deliver critical Building Management System (BMS) infrastructure upgrades and enhancements across a range of commercial, retail, healthcare, education and government sites. This role will help introduce ‘Smart Enabled’ capabilities, driving social, economic and environmental benefits to the sites and the people who use them.

Equans Digital currently delivers projects ranging from £10k to £1.5m. With an aggressive growth strategy over the next 3–5 years, this position will be key to shaping and expanding the team in a sustainable fashion.

Key activities

The role of BMS Service Engineer will include carrying out a number of tasks on contracted customer sites, including PFI schools, PFI hospitals, government estates and MOD sites. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:

  • Installing, configuring and commissioning BMS components and equipment, including sensors, controllers, actuators and software systems.
  • Carrying out maintenance checks on Trend, Tridium and Distech BMSs at our sites.
  • Working a reactive call‑out rota (additional financial benefit included for on‑call duties).
  • Providing specialist technical assistance and support to clients regarding their BMS systems.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement or remedial works to increase BMS performance for our clients.
  • Preparing proposals and quoting of works as required.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • City & Guild / BTEC / NVQ Electrical qualification. Extensive knowledge and experience of BMS/HVAC.
  • Experience with Trend, Tridium Controls/Niagara, Distech and Siemens platforms.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the electrical industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams.
  • Understanding of IT networks.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Controls training or experience.
  • Experience with fault‑finding in electrical panels.
  • DBS vetting and potential BPSS vetting.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
