Imports Manager required for a FMCG and Ingredients firm. This company imports goods into the UK and you will be responsible for the smooth running of the goods being imported. The company uses a customs brokerage firm; this role will check all the paperwork is correct. It is an internal freight forwarder role.
Imports Manager, £45-60k, Hybrid / remote working available however you will need to be in London or Essex, as you might need to do some port visits. They are importing around 400 to 500 tons of meat products currently and looking to increase this.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all imported goods have the correct documents in place before ships dock at ports.
- Work directly for the company to ensure everything runs smoothly within the UK part of the operation.
- Read and verify customs clearance paperwork from a customs brokerage firm.
- Manage the UK side of the import operation for food items, including meat.
Experience
- Background in freight forwarding.
- Knowledge of food imports and customs clearance.
- Experience with paperwork review to ensure accuracy.
Location: Hybrid/remote based but you will do some visits to the docks to check the produce is imported correctly and check the assignment landings.
Internal role working directly for the company that produces the produce in Europe.
