About The Role
The Retail Operations Assistant Manager is a key role within the Retail team, reporting to the Head of Travel Retail – Continental Europe. The position works closely with the Retail team, Education team, Store Design & Visual Merchandising, Supply Chain and external vendor partners to ensure all elements of store environment projects are executed across our existing and expanding estate.
Responsibilities
- In‑Store Operations
- Ensure operational excellence across the store estate by creating, implementing, monitoring and reporting effective processes.
- In partnership with Supply Chain, ensure all NSV orders for retail counters are raised in a timely manner.
- Partner with relevant functions to communicate GWP activations to relevant retail teams and regions.
- Identify opportunities for operational excellence and drive new ways of working focused on data‑informed, profit‑focused and technological improvement.
- Identify opportunities for enhanced customer experience and present these to the business for approval.
- Forecast and order Goods not for resale accurately, including tools, stationery, paperwork, testers and hygiene.
- Communication & BAU
- Act as the go‑to expert for all store‑related issues and technology systems.
- Pilot and launch a counter‑to‑office communications system for streamlined reporting and resolution of on‑counter issues.
- Ensure all NPD launches are communicated effectively and monitored to ensure successful launch.
- Maintenance
- Ensure Store & VM maintenance reported issues are resolved to a high standard, in a timely manner and within budget.
- Manage all maintenance tickets from submission to completion, keeping suppliers notified and communication fluent between all parties.
- Raise POs for all completed works and resolve any payment issues.
- Work closely with the VM team to ensure all counters are displayed to a high standard and complete any necessary update orders and tasks.
- Budget Management
- Track and monitor spend versus budget.
- Assist in creating the budget for Retail Operations OPEX spend allocated to the region.
- Projects
- Support leading the opening of new and existing counter refits to ensure a successful launch, being on‑site and maintaining best practices.
- Lead retail projects, maintaining the project plan to ensure a successful launch.
About You
- Operations experience within the beauty/fashion industry.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritise workload effectively while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven track record in implementing projects, change management and training teams on new ways of working.
- Experience in executing store projects and setting best practice for store managers.
- Confident with budget management and daily financial tasks.
- Reactive and flexible attitude towards tasks.
- Ability to flourish in an autonomous environment.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
- Must be open to travel across Europe.
