Psychology Graduate Mental Health Assistant – High Wycombe

We work with a primary school in High Wycombe that caters for children with special needs and emotional issues. The school is looking for Teaching Assistants (TAs) to start working with them from April 2026 (or September 2026). We are especially interested in Psychology and Criminology graduates aspiring to become Education Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, or Occupational Therapists.

If you are passionate about working with children and additional needs, and up for an exciting, challenging yet rewarding role, this could be the job for you! Some experience working with children in various settings would be beneficial, but personality and motivation within this field are just as important.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including those with Autism and behavioural difficulties.
  • Provide consistent support over at least a 12‑month period, as consistency of staff is vital for the children’s progression.

Qualifications

Applicants should be Psychology or Criminology graduates, coming to the end of their 3rd year at university, and aspiring to become Education Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, or Occupational Therapist.
