Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for maintaining the physical condition and appearance of Agency offices, program sites, grounds, and equipment. The incumbent accurately completes assigned work orders in a timely and cost‑effective manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews maintenance schedule/tasks with supervisor daily.
  • Diagnoses and performs preventative and routine maintenance repairs.
  • Cleans assigned work areas weekly.
  • Ensures all assigned work orders and/or service requests are accurately completed daily and in a timely manner.
  • Inspects exterior areas of Agency properties to ensure grounds are maintained in accordance with Agency standards. Performs building and common area upkeep daily in accordance with Agency standards.
  • Performs routine building daily and emergency maintenance (after hours) as required.
  • Documents work performed, and parts/equipment used on service request form and submits to supervisor at the end of each day.
  • Follows‑up with customers on completed service requests to ensure satisfaction.
  • Orders parts and supplies and ensures inventory is stocked.
  • Maintains shop appearance to facilitate quick assessment of inventory supply. Properly cares and stores equipment to ensure warranty compliance.
  • Assists with internal office moves and pick‑up of donated furniture.
  • Responds to emergencies that occur after normal business hours, when assigned as “Emergency‑On‑Call” staff.
  • Completes monthly credit card reconciliation based on items purchased to complete work orders/service requests.
  • Performs all work in accordance with safety standards of the Agency, OSHA and health codes.
  • Performs all other job‑related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Trade school training or apprenticeship experience highly preferred.
  • Three to five years of hands‑on work experience in facilities, maintenance, or closely related field.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook 365.
  • Must possess a full, valid local, driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record.
  • Must be skilled in the safe use and maintenance of the following:
    • Hand tools – including, but not limited to: various wrenches, screwdrivers, grips, sledge hammer, hammer, snips, post hole diggers, saws, etc.
    • Power tools – including, but not limited to: wrenches, grinder, sander, drill, saws, etc.
    • User‑Moved Aids – including, but not limited to: wheelbarrows, dollies, hand trucks, buckets, hoists, jacks, stepladders, full ladders, double ladders, etc.
    • Mechanical Equipment – including, but not limited to: motors, pumps, compressors, blowers, electric and hand‑powered drills, etc.
    • Measuring Devices – including, but not limited to: voltmeters, ohmmeters, testing meters, PH tests, etc.
