PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN

Job Title – Production Technician

Location – Telford, Shropshire

Salary – £33,733 rising to £43,496 after training

Shift – 4 On 4 Off (Days & Nights) 7:30 – 7:30 | 42 hours per week

Job Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated Production Technician to join a leading UK food manufacturer at their busy production site in Telford. With significant investment recently made into new automated packing lines, this is an exciting time to join a forward‑thinking business that is focused on innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

This role sits on the process side of packing, where you will be responsible for operating and monitoring automated machinery while ensuring the production line runs efficiently and meets strict food safety and quality standards. The company is looking for hands‑on individuals with production or packaging experience who are keen to develop their technical skills and progress within a growing manufacturing environment.

As a Production Technician, you will play a key role in keeping the production line performing at its best. This will involve troubleshooting faults, managing start‑ups and change‑overs, supporting machine operators, and ensuring all processes follow standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience working within a production, manufacturing, or packaging environment.
  • Experience operating automated production or packing equipment.
  • Ability to investigate and troubleshoot faults to minimise downtime.
  • Experience running machinery through start‑ups, shut‑downs, and change‑overs.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support and guide machine operators.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced production environment.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG production environments.
  • Previous experience leading or training machine operators.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and quality compliance processes.
