The Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel is a striking Grade II listed iconic building in the vibrant Spinningfields District. It offers 148 stylish hotel rooms and suites with modern amenities. The V&A is the home to Chop & Plant, our casual drinking and dining destination, offering a blend of Chop House classics and plant‑based dishes that focus on local produce and sustainability. We also have flexible event spaces, including an outdoor terrace, small boardrooms, and banquet facilities that can accommodate up to 200 people.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting all guests and escorting them to their tables
  • Ensuring food orders are taken correctly, processed accurately, and appropriate payment is received
  • Ensuring all food & beverages are served efficiently, in accordance with the set standards and time scales
  • Keeping buffet services in pristine condition and fully replenished
  • Recommending menu items, accompaniments, beverages & wines with knowledge
  • Ensuring that any allergens or dietary requirements have been highlighted or identified
  • Setting up conference and event areas, as per the Business Event Order sheet
  • Completing a check of the area of work prior to opening for cleanliness, correct set‑up & mise en place
  • Communicating with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolving any complaints
  • Preparing the work area properly for the next shift before leaving your shift
  • Following correct procedures when answering the telephone & welcoming guests into your area of work
  • Processing all payment methods in accordance with accounting procedures and policies
  • Following property control audit standards and cash handling procedures (e.g., blind drops)

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working within a hotel restaurant (preferred)
  • A warm and genuine individual who enjoys putting people first
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Flexibility to work in line with the needs and demands of the business
  • A desire to grow and develop within the company
