Role Summary

We are seeking a professional, reliable, and customer-focused Security Officer to help provide a safe and secure environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

As a Security Officer, you will act as a visible presence across campus, responding to incidents and emergencies, conducting patrols, monitoring CCTV and security systems, controlling access to buildings, and supporting the safety and wellbeing of the University community.

You will provide excellent customer service, maintain accurate records, support emergency evacuations, and work closely with colleagues and emergency services when required.

Essential Criteria

  • Previous security experience or experience in a role with transferable skills.
  • GCSE English Language (or equivalent).
  • Current SIA Security Guarding and/or Door Supervision Licence.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and remain calm under pressure.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Working knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Understanding of PACE 1984 and SOCPA 2005.
