Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Residential Care Worker to support young people (ages 8-17) in a looked-after care setting. This role focuses on providing a stable, life-changing environment for children who may have experienced trauma or have additional needs such as ASD or learning disabilities.

Location: Ammanford (SA18)

Pay rate: £27,040

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Support: Manage meal preparation, cleaning, and transportation for young people while maintaining a safe, positive environment.
• Care Delivery: Implement individual care plans to promote emotional and social development.
• Safety & Compliance: Administer medication, maintain regulatory records, and address safeguarding concerns promptly.
• Relationship Building: Establish consistent boundaries and foster positive engagement with families and external agencies.

Candidate Requirements

• Essential Experience: Prior experience in children’s homes, social work, or assisted living is required.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding practices, and care regulations.
• Specialist Care: Experience working with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and physical/sensory disabilities.
• Attributes: A positive attitude toward de-escalation practices and a commitment to personal development and training.
