Senior ManagerSt Ives£60,000 – £65,000

An established and growing accountancy firm is seeking a Senior Manager to join its General Practice team in Cambridgeshire. This opportunity is ideal for an ACA/ACCA qualified professional with strong practice experience looking to manage a varied portfolio of corporate and specialist clients. The role offers a blend of client management, technical compliance work, team leadership and business development within a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages professional growth and flexible working.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services.
  • Oversee accounts preparation, corporate taxation, VAT and company secretarial matters.
  • Review and finalise statutory accounts, tax returns and VAT submissions.
  • Prepare and review budgets, forecasts and financial projections.
  • Manage workflow, budgets and compliance processes across assignments.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for additional services.
  • Support business development initiatives and attend networking events.
  • Review payroll-related services including P11Ds, FPS and EPS submissions.
  • Supervise, mentor and develop junior team members and managers.
  • Conduct appraisals, performance reviews and training support for direct reports.
  • Ensure work is completed in line with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Liaise with partners and senior leadership on workflow and operational matters.
  • Support the implementation of internal processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Personal Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA qualified.
  • Strong experience within an accountancy practice environment.
  • Previous experience managing a client portfolio and leading teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to explain complex financial matters clearly to clients.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience using CCH software would be advantageous.
  • Commercially aware with a proactive approach to client service and business development.
