Band 5 – Electrical Technician, Estates Maintenance Worker, SACH

We are seeking a qualified electrician to join a small team at St Albans City Hospital. The role requires ability to work unsupervised and may involve work at Saint Albans City Hospital and Hemel Hempstead Hospital from time to time.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out maintenance on electrical circuits.
• Fault find electrical circuits and complete preventative maintenance as per HTM compliance.
• Operate on small power and lighting circuits.
• Provide on‑call emergency cover by participating in the rota.
• Work with generators, fire alarm systems, LV panels, boiler plant and nurse call systems.
• Assist with updates to hospital theatres and other facilities.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds trained and completion of an electrical apprenticeship.
• Knowledge of 18th edition regulations and fire alarm systems.
• Understanding of nurse call systems.
• Experience with generators, fire alarms, LV panels and boiler plant.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
