Position Overview
We are currently seeking a passionate, dedicated SEN Teacher to deliver online lessons to pupils living within our children’s residential homes. The role will be based at our Head Office in Belper (Derbyshire). Our provision supports vulnerable young people aged 7 to 18 years, with special educational needs.
Responsibilities
- Be adaptable, innovative and child focused.
- Engage with pupils and devise the best routes for them.
- Deliver lessons in core subjects (e.g., math and English).
- Plan, evaluate, and monitor learning and progress.
- Differentiate all aspects of learning to promote inclusion and attainment.
- Build good relationships with young people and staff members.
- Work with young people who have special educational needs and whose behaviour is challenging.
- Deliver online/virtual lessons.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Experience supporting young people with special educational needs – essential.
- Experience working with challenging young people – essential.
- Proven experience delivering online/virtual lessons – desirable.
- Sound curriculum knowledge.
- Strong organisation and time‑management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive attitude to hard work and challenging situations.
- Dedication to support inclusion.
