Position Overview
We’re recruiting a Housing Solutions Initial Assessment Team Assistant to join our busy Housing Solutions Team at Milton Keynes City Council. This is a rewarding role where you’ll be the first point of contact for people who are threatened with homelessness or already homeless, giving practical advice, gathering key information, and helping people access the right support as early as possible. You’ll play an important part in a service that helps residents find or sustain accommodation, while supporting our wider aim to make Milton Keynes a better place to live and helping us deliver decent, affordable homes.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the initial point of contact for individuals facing or experiencing homelessness.
Provide clear, concise advice and support in line with council policies.
Collect and record essential information to enable timely referrals to appropriate services.
Maintain a professional and compassionate approach, fostering trust and respect with all service users.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience in housing or a similar customer‑focused service.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with care, treating people with empathy and respect.
Work Conditions
Site‑Based role – you will be expected to work from the designated workplace.
Interview for this role will be held on 17th July 2026.
