Job Description:

At Autonomie, we believe every young person with a physical and/or learning disability deserves the chance to enjoy life to the full, build independence, and make lasting friendships. We run a range of exciting programmes, including:

  • SAIL (Social & Independent Living) – developing independent living skills
  • Freedom 2 Choose Youth Club – a safe and fun space for young people to socialise
  • Drama with Rogue Encounters – creative sessions and performances
  • Evening Social Programmes – group activities, games, and events

We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to join our team and support our services. No special skills are needed – just kindness, patience, and a willingness to get involved. However if you have a special talent or skill, you might want to share it with the group, e.g., music, arts, or sports. Volunteers are reimbursed for out of pocket expenses in line with our policies. Minimum Age 14 with parental consent (full supervision with staff is provided). An Enhanced Access NI certificate may be required for this role.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Support young people during activities and outings.
  • Help create a welcoming and fun environment.
  • Gain experience working with people with disabilities.
  • Be part of a supportive and passionate team.
  • Help with set‑up and take‑down before and after activities.
  • Adhere to all safeguarding practices to help provide a fun and safe environment for all.

Time commitment: Flexible – even a few hours can make a big difference!
