Join our Inclusive Learning team at our Hastings campus (Station Plaza site) as a Specialist Support Worker, where you will provide dedicated, one-to-one support to a student with complex needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and behaviours that may challenge.
Working closely with teaching staff, families, and specialist professionals, you will help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that enables the student to access their learning programme fully. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people, promoting independence, and making a meaningful impact every day.
Responsibilities
- Providing tailored, one-to-one support within the classroom, during unstructured times, and across the college environment
- Supporting communication needs and adapting learning materials to suit the student’s individual requirements
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages independence and confidence
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, families, and external professionals, contributing to reviews and multi-agency support processes
Requirements / Qualifications
- Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and experience supporting learners with additional needs
- Experience working with young people who display behaviours that may challenge
- Confidence in using (or willingness to use) appropriate physical intervention strategies when required
- Strong communication, teamwork, and proactive problem-solving skills

- Annual salary: Circa £26,500 FTE – Circa £11,500 Actual
- Hours: Part Time – 20 Hours/36 Weeks FTC Until July 2027
