Responsibilities

• Selecting appropriate timber boards to meet works orders
• Operating sawing and machining equipment safely and accurately
• Maximising yield from each piece of timber while minimising waste
• Accurately tallying and recording production output
• Stacking, banding, labelling, and presenting completed orders
• Maintaining a clean, tidy, and well‑organised work area

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a timber sawmill or woodworking environment
• Operating woodworking or timber machining equipment
• A good standard of maths and spoken English
• A disciplined, methodical, and quality‑focused approach to work
• Strong attention to detail under time pressure
• A Forklift Licence or formal Timber Machining Qualification would be advantageous
