HR Business Partner – Workforce Change & Restructuring
6-Month Contract

Hybrid Working – 3 Days Per Week in the Office
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Business Partner to join a high-performing Workforce Change & Restructuring team within a leading global financial services organisation.
This role is ideal for a senior HR professional with extensive experience delivering complex workforce change programmes, restructures, consultations and organisational transformation initiatives within large, matrixed environments.
The Opportunity
As HR Business Partner – Workforce Change & Restructuring, you will support and lead a portfolio of strategic change initiatives across multiple business areas and legal entities.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, HR Centres of Excellence, Employee Relations specialists and business leaders, you will drive workforce transformation programmes from initial planning through to implementation, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and organisational governance requirements.
This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to influence large-scale organisational change across both UK and international operations.
Key Responsibilities
Workforce Change & Restructuring
- Lead and support complex workforce change and restructuring programmes
- Manage organisational redesign, outsourcing, insourcing and business transformation initiatives
- Support legal entity transfers and organisational change projects
- Deliver workforce planning and implementation activities across multiple locations
Consultation & Employee Relations
- Lead employee consultation processes, including collective consultations
- Manage redundancy programmes and workforce reduction initiatives
- Partner with trade unions, employee representatives and works councils
- Ensure all activities comply with employment legislation and regulatory requirements
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations and workforce change matters
Project Delivery
- Lead HR workstreams across multiple change programmes
- Conduct due diligence activities and impact assessments
- Develop and execute communication and engagement plans
- Establish governance frameworks and risk management processes
- Track project milestones, deliverables and outcomes
- Produce executive reporting and stakeholder updates
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders
- Partner with HR Centres of Excellence and specialist HR functions
- Work collaboratively across global teams and jurisdictions
- Manage sensitive and complex employee matters with professionalism and discretion
About You
You’ll be an experienced HR change professional with a strong track record of delivering large-scale workforce transformation programmes within complex corporate environments.
Essential Experience
- Significant experience leading workforce change and restructuring programmes
- Extensive employee relations experience
- Proven experience managing collective consultations and redundancy programmes
- Experience working with trade unions and employee representatives
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and workforce change regulations
- Experience leading TUPE transfers and organisational change projects
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programmes and stakeholders
- Exposure to international workforce change initiatives
- Strong project and programme management skills
- Experience operating within highly matrixed organisations
Technical Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including:
- Pivot Tables
- VLOOKUPs
- Data manipulation
- Data reconciliation
- Large dataset management
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities
- Experience producing project governance and executive-level reporting
- Ability to structure, manage and track complex programmes effectively
