General Operative

The Role: The successful General Operative will be: Operating the machinery in a safe working mannerChecking products for quality on the production line and removing defective itemsKeeping machines supplied with packaging material and labelsMaintaining / up keeping machinery by conducting regular pre- production checksReporting machinery faults to shift supervisors and maintenance staffSetting up the production line and making periodic changes needed to manufacture different products.Making minor adjustments to machine settings to improve quality and efficiencyDriving a forklift in the yard, in a safe working mannerProviding production support, again as required, to other factories/ departmentsKeeping the machines and work area clean and tidy during the shiftRequirements for the ideal General Operative: Medically fit to undertake the physical requirements of the jobPrevious experience of automated manufacturing production line and operating systemsAdherence to and appreciation for H&S and general housekeeping standardsAbility to work quickly to meet deadlinesReliableWorks well on own initiative and as part of a teamPatience to carry out repetitive tasks.
