About the Role

The Engineering Technician is a key role in our multifunctional group that supports our internal development programs and helps resolve residual reliability problems, implement or trial design improvements, and assist in running tests and experiments with scientists and other engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Executing repairs or modifications to equipment and simple mechanical presses.
  • Analysis of defective equipment.
  • Product and component testing, reliability testing.
  • Develop protocols to commission simple production equipment including equipment qualification.
  • Promoting cGMP compliance within a pilot production facility.
  • Maintaining a set of working instruments for day‑to‑day use.

Qualifications

  • Graduate in Electronic or Mechanical engineering.
  • BTEC or similar in Engineering discipline.
  • Experience working with mechanical assembly equipment.
  • Experience in working with electrical products and basic understanding of electronics.
  • Experience with soldering processes, particularly SMD rework.
  • Experience conducting fault finding and repair of production equipment or scientific instruments.
  • Experience in product testing & failure analysis.
  • Competent practical skills in running and maintaining diverse types of mechanical test equipment.
  • Preferred experience with scientific instrumentation.
  • Good record‑keeping skills.
  • Ability to work unaided and self‑motivated.
  • Fully computer literate.
