Position

Device Repairs Engineer

Salary: £27,000 per annum

Responsibilities

• Diagnose incoming laptops for defects and damage and log appropriately.
• Install a Windows operating system.
• Maintain equipment, perform specialist repairs, modifications and upgrades, and implement software/hardware enhancements within own capabilities.
• Distinguish between hardware problems and accidental damage.
• Provide neat repairs, clean devices, and ensure proper sealing. Training will be provided.
• Check work, update tickets with diagnostic results, and allocate ESD locations to repairs as part of the quality assurance process.
• Provide basic level of technical support to end users on first line if needed.
• Update tickets with relevant Easy4u status in line with repair diagnosis.
• Use customer‑service skills to deal with individuals and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Communicate effectively in written English.
• Work with the Easy4u Service Platform and Helpdesk System to record items and keep customers informed of repair progress.
• Strive for quality over quantity.

Qualifications

• Experience in the IT field desired.
• Background in repairing or building hardware.
• Can‑do attitude focused on delivering excellent customer service.
• Self‑starter with ideas to enhance service quality.
• Ability to work flexibly and meet customer demands.
• Successful applicants must provide an enhanced DBS disclosure; the expense will be covered by CTS.
