Job Title: NHS Porter
Location: GloucesterPay Rates:
Monday to Friday: £12.21 per hour
Saturday: £17.22 per hour
Sunday: £22.34 per hour
Shift Pattern:
5 days out of 7 (including weekends)
Rota-based shifts between 6:00am and 8:00pm
Flexibility required
About the Role
We are currently seeking reliable and motivated individuals to join our team as an NHS Porter on a temporary basis, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate. This is a vital frontline role within the hospital, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of services that directly support patient care.
Key Responsibilities
As a Porter, your duties will include:
Safely transporting patients between wards, departments, and treatment areas
Moving medical equipment, supplies, and documentation across the hospital
Supporting clinical staff with non-medical tasks
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of equipment and work areas
Providing a friendly and professional service to patients, visitors, and staff
Responding promptly to porter requests across the site

Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work a rota including weekends and varying shifts
Physically fit, as the role involves manual handling and being on your feet
Must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
