We are currently seeking an Assistant Head of Production to join a growing and fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with production leadership experience who is ready to step into a senior support role within a busy operation.

Working closely with the Head of Production, you will support the overall management of production operations, helping to ensure efficiency, quality, and smooth day‑to‑day running of the facility. This role will involve overseeing production staff, maintaining operational standards, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Production with the day‑to‑day running of the production floor
  • Help organise daily production schedules to make sure orders are completed on time
  • Supervise and support production staff, ensuring everyone understands their tasks
  • Make sure high standards of quality, hygiene, and food safety are maintained at all times
  • Monitor production output and help resolve any issues that could slow down production
  • Assist with planning staff rotas and organising workloads across the team
  • Help train and support new and existing team members
  • Work closely with other teams such as Quality, Warehouse, and Operations to keep production running smoothly
  • Keep production records and reports up to date
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed across the production area
  • Support stock control of ingredients and packaging used in production
  • Suggest and help implement improvements to make processes more efficient
  • Step in to support or lead the team when the Head of Production is not available

About You

  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment in a similar supervisory or leadership role
  • Background in food, beverage, or confectionery manufacturing would be highly advantageous
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced production environment
  • Good problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to operational challenges

Additional Information

  • Standard working hours are 7:30am – 4:00pm, although flexibility is required and shift patterns may be introduced in the future
