About the Role

A leading marketing production and direct-mail fulfilment organisation is seeking an experienced Account Director to oversee key client relationships and ensure the successful delivery of complex, high-volume direct-mail campaigns.

This is a senior customer-facing role that requires deep, hands‑on understanding of Direct Mail manufacturing processes — not print management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the strategic lead for major client accounts in the Direct Mail sector.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of direct-mail campaigns from planning to production and delivery.
  • Work closely with production teams to forecast work volumes, book jobs accurately, and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Provide expert guidance on print production, data handling, personalisation, enclosing, and postal optimisation.
  • Anticipate client needs, resolve issues proactively, and ensure all projects meet quality, cost, and time expectations.
  • Produce accurate job estimates and schedules, working collaboratively with internal manufacturing teams.
  • Maintain strong, consultative relationships with senior client stakeholders.
  • Analyse campaign performance and production data to drive continuous improvement.

About You

  • Proven experience as an Account Director, Senior Account Manager, or Client Services Lead within a direct-mail manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth understanding of print production, data processing, personalisation, enclosing, finishing, and mailing workflows.
  • Experience forecasting workloads, planning capacity, and booking jobs directly into production.
  • Highly organised, detail‑driven, and comfortable managing multiple complex live projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage large clients with confidence and credibility.
  • Commercially aware with strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.

The Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Opportunity to work with major national brands and high‑profile marketing campaigns
  • A stable, growing organisation with significant investment in technology and production capability
  • Supportive, collaborative operational and client‑service teams
