Purpose of the role
As the Head of Social in the UK, you will act as the senior figurehead and capability lead for social across Dentsu Creative UK. You will be responsible for refining and operationalising dentsu’s social and influencer proposition, leading teams across Manchester and London and being a senior point of contact for social clients, platform partners and senior stakeholders.
What you’ll do
- Act as the senior social lead and key point of contact for Dentsu Creative UK, optimising approach and setting the direction for social across the business
- Lead and grow the social offering, ensuring strong social expertise, innovation and thought leadership across platforms, formats and emerging trends
- Drive new business activity, leading pitches, building propositions and identifying opportunities to grow revenue through social
- Secure and embed new clients, ensuring strong onboarding, relationship building and long‑term partnership development
- Own and oversee social commercials, ensuring work is delivered profitably and supports broader business growth targets
- Lead senior client relationships, with proven ability to manage complex, multi‑stakeholder accounts across both B2B and B2C sectors
- Partner closely with strategy, creative, media and CXM teams to deliver integrated, best‑in‑class social solutions
- Collaborate with global markets to scale best practices, standardise approaches and enhance Dentsu Creative’s social product
- Champion innovation, ensuring Dentsu Creative remains at the forefront of social, culture and platform evolution

- Optimise current growth by becoming quickly a trusted senior figure on social with all stakeholders
- Deliver innovative work that works and is recognised by the industry and clients
- Secure new business through successful pitches and increase the number of new clients
- Grow the agency’s market share in the social media space
- Streamline processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs without compromising quality
- Represent the agency at industry panels, conferences, and events, effectively communicating the agency’s social media point of view
- Build a credible profile among senior clients and industry peers
- Maintain strong team retention rates through successful management of the team
- Create a cohesive global network of social leads that shares best practices and raises the quality of work across regions
What you’ll bring
- Deep proven social expertise, with a strong understanding of platforms, content, community, paid social and measurement
- Demonstrated experience driving innovation in social, translating trends and cultural insight into impactful client solutions
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience owning or contributing to social commercials, revenue growth and profitability
- Proven track record in new business, including pitching, winning and growing client relationships
- Experience in securing and embedding new clients, building trust quickly and establishing long‑term partnerships
- Ability to lead and manage complex client environments, with multiple stakeholders and integrated teams
- Experience working across both B2B and B2C clients, understanding the nuances of each
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally
- Experience leading a multi‑discipline team with strong people skills to ensure the team continues to prosper and grow
- Experience running reactive social accounts at scale
- Excellent strategic and creative thinking abilities
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the credibility to represent the company at industry panels and events

What we offer
- This is a permanent role
- The team is based in our Manchester office but operates across Manchester and London so travel is expected. The team are in the office on Monday and Tuesday.
