Role Overview: The Short Breaks Support Worker will provide direct support to disabled children and their families, facilitating their participation in community activities and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment at the Children’s Centre.

Responsibilities:

  • Support disabled children and their families directly, ensuring their needs are met through compassionate and tailored care.
  • Assist children in attending community friendship groups to develop independence and social skills.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and apply them consistently.
  • Commit to working one evening and one weekend session per week, with potential additional hours during school holidays.
  • Create a safe, enjoyable, and supportive environment in the Children’s Centre, promoting learning and well-being.
  • Participate in paid training, including First Aid, epilepsy awareness, moving and handling, food hygiene, and the TEAM TEACH positive behaviour management intervention.
