CNC Machine Setter Operator (4 Day Week)

Job Overview

CNC Machine Setter Operator – £25,000–£35,000. 4‑day week, Monday to Thursday, with Friday to Sunday off each week. Overtime paid at time and a half. Stable, site‑based role at Hixon, Stafford.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate machine centre equipment within a manufacturing environment.
• Work on production machinery to manufacture accurate metal components.
• Prepare machinery for production runs and changeovers.
• Work from engineering drawings, job sheets and production instructions.
• Load programmes, set machine parameters, or adjust tooling where required.
• Check first‑off and completed parts for accuracy and quality.
• Use measuring equipment to check components against specification.
• Identify and report machine, tooling or quality issues.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Machine Centre Operator, Machine Centre Setter, CNC Machine Operator, or similar.
• Previous machine operating or setting experience in manufacturing, production or fabrication environments.
• Ability to work from drawings, job sheets or production instructions.
• Ability to carry out basic measurement and quality checks.
• Reliable, hands‑on and quality‑focused attitude.
• Comfortable working in a busy production environment.
• Consideration for increased hourly rate if able to set and operate multiple types of equipment.
