Teaching Assistant – SEMH Support

All-Through School | Horsham Area

Full-Time, 8:30-3:30 | Term-Time Only

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £92.63 daily rate, paid weekly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one‑to‑one and small group support for students with SEMH needs across primary and secondary phases.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to implement behaviour and learning strategies.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of personalised learning plans.
  • Support the emotional wellbeing of students, helping them to build confidence, resilience, and positive relationships.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working with SEMH students or in a similar SEN support role (preferred).
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour management.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine commitment to helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in child development, SEN, or education support (desirable but not essential).
