Nurture Teacher – Sunderland
The Education Network are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Nurture Teacher to work within a specialist provision in the Sunderland area. This is a long‑term opportunity, working with secondary‑aged pupils who are working below expected levels for their age.
The Role
- Full‑time position, Monday to Friday
- Working hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm (early finish on Fridays: 8:30am – 3:30pm)
- Long‑term placement teaching secondary‑aged students with additional learning and emotional needs
- Delivering tailored lessons to meet individual learning levels
- Supporting pupils with engagement, behaviour and emotional regulation
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Experience working within SEN, nurture groups, alternative provision or behavioural settings is desirable
- Strong behaviour‑management and relationship‑building skills
- A patient, adaptable and nurturing approach
- Ability to differentiate learning for students working below age‑related expectations
