Job Summary
At Avery Healthcare, we support the people who care for our residents. This role is the first and last line of maintenance at Seagrave House Care Home in Corby. You will keep the building and grounds in safe, clean, and functional condition, performing routine inspections and repairs, and delivering emergency support from out‑of‑hours.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks and basic repairs (electrical, plumbing, joinery, and general building work) both inside and outside the home.
- Support new residents to arrange their rooms as desired.
- Ensure routine re‑decoration and maintenance standards are upheld.
- Advise on supplies and ordering replacement goods in a timely manner.
- Provide out‑of‑hours emergency service and participate in the on‑call rota.
Qualifications
- Minimum one year experience in a general maintenance or handy person role, or a professional qualification in a trade.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, including Moving & Handling, Fire Safety, and COSHH.
- Ability to adapt and cover short‑notice responsibilities.
Additional Requirements
- ADBS Disclosure check (cost paid by employer).
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
Location & Pay
Site: Seagrave House Care Home, Corby, NN17 1EH, United Kingdom. Salary: £13.40 per hour. Contract: Permanent, full‑time.
