Outwood Primary Academy Woodlands is seeking a Teaching Assistant (TA) and a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our academy.

The successful candidate will work as a TA during the morning periods supporting the teaching and learning of Maths and English under the direction of teaching staff. In the afternoon they will work as an HLTA, covering the PPA of class teachers. The role involves collaborating with teaching staff to assist teachers throughout the planning cycle and class management.

Working pattern:

  • 16 hours as TA and 12.5 hours as HLTA, Monday to Friday term time only plus 2 days.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day‑to‑day teaching and learning in Maths and English.
  • Assist teachers in planning, assessment and class management.
  • Cover PPA for class teachers as an HLTA.
  • Maintain safeguarding procedures and uphold a safe learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High expectations for all pupils and a self‑motivated, creative and inspirational approach.
  • Excellent curriculum knowledge and experience working as an HLTA.
  • Evidence of teaching support experience and a commitment to professional development.
  • Evidence of safeguarding training and willingness to comply with all statutory requirements, including DBS checks and references.
