Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Plymouth on a permanent contract.

As a Support Worker, you will support individuals with learning disabilities by assisting with daily activities, providing emotional support, and building meaningful relationships.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Provide emotional support and facilitate communication to promote independence.
• Maintain accurate records of care and support activities.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver individualized support plans.

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for supporting others.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
• All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.

Working Hours and Contract

Contract options: Full‑time/Part‑time (flexible hours based on availability). 24‑hour care services with rota prepared at least 4 weeks in advance.

Shift times: Days between 07:00–22:00. Sleep‑in available with enhanced flat rate payment of £64.20.
