About the Role
As a Cover Teacher, you ll be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects to secondary students. You ll ensure classes run smoothly in the absence of the regular teacher, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-set lessons to classes across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Maintain classroom control and a positive learning atmosphere
- Support students with their learning and behaviour
- Follow school policies and procedures
- Provide feedback to teaching staff after cover lessons
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a secondary school setting
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Confidence teaching across a range of subjects
- Suitable for Cover Supervisors or experienced Teaching Assistants ready to step up
