Housekeeper & Gardener/Maintenance couple for part time residence, Kent
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and flexible domestic couple to manage and maintain a private country residence near Tunbridge Wells in Kent. London based Principals are in residence typically every other weekend, with longer stays during summer months. The family also spends extended periods at homes in London and France.
The successful couple will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the property, providing high standards of housekeeping, property maintenance, and grounds assistance. A positive, can-do attitude, discretion, and the ability to work independently are essential. Two drivers preferred due to remote location.
Working Hours
40 hours per week, generally Monday to Friday but working weekends occasionally when Principals are entertaining (time off in lieu).
Household Duties
- Housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, ironing
- Silver polishing, flower arranging
- Receiving deliveries and managing household shopping and errands
- Preparing guest bedrooms and bathrooms
- Family cooking as required – pre-prepared for Principals to heat up when in residence, occasional cooking when entertaining
- Preparing freezer meals for the family
Property & Estate Management
- Liaising with contractors and overseeing maintenance works
- Basic handyman duties
- laying fires
- Pool, hot tub, pool house, and tennis court maintenance
- Pest control and general estate upkeep
- Driving family members and guests to/from stations and airports
- Vehicle cleaning and care
Gardens & Grounds
- Assisting with the maintenance of approximately 10 acres of garden
- Working alongside a part-time gardener and external contractors
- Orchard care, including harvesting and preserving fruit
- Assistance with pond and fish care
Pet Care
- Occasional care and walking of the family dog when required
3 bed flat provided as staff accommodation, all costs covered. Well behaved pets considered – must get on with principals dog! Salary negotiable according to experience from £70k – £80k gross pa.
