Job Description:

Job Description The Construction Director will drive high-value, complex and multi-project programmes through the full project lifecycle, from early scoping to final handover. As a member of the leadership team, you will support project teams, collaborate with other departments, and ensure all construction activity is aligned with wider organisational objectives and performance targets. The role will oversee delivery across three key divisions: Capex Projects – project values up to £1 million Minor Works – lower-value projects with fast turnaround Construction Projects – full strip-out and rebuild programmes (flooring, layouts, full refurbishment), typically valued between £5 million – £20 million Key Responsibilities Support the Head of Projects in leading large-scale construction projects from inception through to handover Oversee multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery is safe, on time and within budget Provide senior leadership to project teams and project managers across all construction divisions Act as the primary link between site-based teams and senior leadership Set, maintain and embed project standards, processes and best practice Manage budgets, risks, timelines and resources across assigned projects Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards at all times Track progress, report performance, and maintain accurate project data and systems Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications Proven experience as a Construction Director or equivalent within a Tier 1 construction environment Extensive senior management experience delivering multi-million-pound construction or infrastructure projects Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage risk, performance and profitability Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and crisis management capabilities In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, regulations and building standards Professional chartership required (e.g. CIOB, RICS, ICE) Ability to attain BPSS clearance, with SC clearance required at a later stage Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across UK sites as required The Company ISS is a world-leading workplace and facility management company, connecting people and places to make the world work better.
