About the Role

  • Eating out and relaxing with a drink
  • Getting her nails done, dressing up and receiving compliments
  • Writing poems and talking about her cat, Poppet
  • Watching theatre shows, TV and DVDs
  • Attending her day centre once a week

She has a learning disability and epilepsy (absent seizures managed with buccal medication), uses a walker, and occasionally experiences behaviours of distress. She benefits from encouragement, positive energy and support to stay active.

Your Role

You’ll provide 2:1 support, including:

  • Personal care
  • Medication administration (including epilepsy support)
  • Support with routines and daily living
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and motivation
  • Emotional reassurance and meaningful engagement

Shift Patterns

  • Day Support (2:1): 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM
  • Long Day + Sleep‑In: 9:00 AM – 9:00 AM (next day)
  • Sleep‑In Shift: 10:00 PM – 9:00 AM (sleep‑in hours paid as rest rate from 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Rotas are planned in advance to support a healthy work‑life balance.

  • Confident, compassionate and positive
  • Energetic and engaging, able to uplift and motivate
  • Patient, flexible and calm in your approach
