Job Summary
Join a compassionate, forward‑thinking multidisciplinary team within an adult ADHD pathway. The role requires an experienced Band 7 Advanced Nurse Practitioner with prescribing duties to deliver high‑quality assessment and treatment for adults with ADHD. The position is based in Wakefield, supporting a large adult ADHD service and working within a supportive multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists and specialist physician assistants.
Responsibilities
- Prescribe medication and manage ADHD treatment plans within the scope of independent/supplementary prescribing.
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and establish diagnoses for adult ADHD, including undiagnosed or complex cases.
- Collaborate closely with consultant psychiatrists, senior nursing colleagues and other MDT members to develop and deliver effective treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, including prescribing and risk assessment documentation, in line with NHS and Trust policies.
- Provide professional supervision, mentoring and CPD support for supplementary prescribers.
- Adopt and promote best practice, contributing to the development of policies and protocols within the service.
Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse – Mental Health or Nursing in Learning Disabilities (RNLD).
- Recognised non‑medical prescribing qualification (Supplementary or Independent Prescriber).
- Experience as a non‑medical prescriber in a senior mental health or neuro‑developmental role.
Desirable
- Academic qualifications at Diploma or Degree level in a relevant field.
- Teaching or research experience in adolescent or adult ADHD services.
